Post Natal Pilates

We offer Postnatal Pilates group and private sessions. Postnatal Pilates utilises Pilates equipment to help postnatal mums regain core strength, awareness and functionality after birth.

The exercises are designed to be low-impact and gradually increase in intensity, allowing new mothers to rebuild their strength safely and at their own pace. New mums will also work on the upper body and develop shoulder girdle strength as the baby grows.

Getting Started

New to Pilates

If you are new to Pilates, we recommend starting with a minimum of 3 private sessions.

During these sessions, our Pilates Instructor will perform a complete personalised body assessment, introduce you to the principles of Pilates, and ensure that you are performing the exercises accurately and safely.

We recommend starting Pilates at least 6 weeks after normal delivery and 12 weeks after caesarean delivery.

Experienced Pilates Practitioner

If you were already practicing Pilates prior, you can restart your journey by booking either a group or private session with us. Should you wish to join the group classes, we recommend starting with our Post Natal classes regardless of your prior fitness level.

Post Natal Programme At Home

This video series covers the first 7 weeks of a new mum’s postpartum exercise regime. You can begin whenever you are ready.

Each week starts with an introductory video by Core Concept's Principal Physiotherapist, Sylvia Ho, that explain the changes the body has experienced and will continue to experience over the postpartum period. Thereafter we have a 30-minute exercise video, led by a Breathe Pilates' senior instructor, that focuses on the theme of the week to help kickstart the postpartum mum exercise regime.

We recommend resting at least 2 weeks postpartum before returning to exercise.
