Dorcas Abigail Tan

Fonv Pilates Certified Level 1: Mat, Props and Reformer
Dorcas began learning dance at a young age and quickly understood the importance of movement and fitness in maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Dance gave her early exposure to body awareness, flexibility, and coordination, which later served as a natural entry point into Pilates. She first encountered Pilates during her school years and continued pursuing her interest in the practice, especially after starting her corporate career.
At her office job, she struggled with posture issues and tight back muscles—common challenges from long hours seated at a desk. Determined the rectify the problem, she looked into long term solutions and was intrigued by Pilates’ focus on alignment, strength, and flexibility. After attending more regular sessions, she's discovered that Pilates not only alleviated her back tension but also significantly improved her posture and strength. Beyond the physical improvements, it deepened her understanding of how daily habits, such as prolonged sitting, shape movement patterns and can lead to long-term issues. This newfound awareness sparked her passion for exploring how movement and mindfulness create lasting change in the body.
Inspired by these positive changes, Dorcas pursued a certification as a Pilates instructor. Now, she combines her personal experience with a deep commitment to helping others achieve a balanced lifestyle through mindful movement. She aims to empower her clients to strengthen their bodies while becoming more aware of how their daily habits influence their well-being, leading to healthier, more mindful lives - providing the best experience for her clients, ensuring each session supports their unique needs and goals.
